At St Andrew’s School (Secondary), we believe in nurturing Saints who are confident, responsible, and purpose-driven. Our inaugural Secondary 3 Work Experience Programme (WEP) provides students with the opportunity to step beyond the classroom and explore the working world firsthand.

During this compulsory programme, students are placed in a variety of organisations across industries, ranging from law firms and engineering collaborations to sports associations. Through these attachments, they gain insights into different career paths, develop workplace skills, and understand the real-world relevance of their learning.

The WEP helps students build essential life skills such as communication, teamwork, adaptability, and self-reflection. More importantly, it allows them to discover their strengths, interests, and passions — key steps in the journey of becoming servant leaders who bring life to the nations.

By combining experiential learning with the school’s values of WISE & TRUE, the WEP ensures that every Saint leaves with not only new knowledge but also increased confidence and a deeper sense of purpose.

Kawin, who signed up with Aether – a collaboration between SUTD & RSAF, learnt about 3D modelling and coding and observed how engineers tested and improved their ideas.

Mr Sidney Kumar, General Manager of the Singapore Rugby Union, an Old Boy and former staff of the school, supported the WEP and thus the boys had an opportunity to be a part of the All Blacks Clinic, learning the importance of communication and leadership, on and off the field as well as teamwork, discipline and planning.

Puneet understudied an experienced and versatile corporate lawyer from PK Wong & Nair and learnt that being a lawyer isn’t just about arguing in court. There is a lot of research, preparation, and teamwork involved as well.

At Knock Knock Studio, apart from learning about Interior Design, students prepared a formal marketing deck and learnt the importance of preparedness in pitching their proposals to others.

Our boys with an interest in Transportation were attached to Tada Mobility, where they gained an understanding of the ride-hailing ecosystem and saw how data analytics, algorithms, and mobile app design drive the efficiency of ride-hailing operations.
